We are making the decision, along with several others across the state of Ohio, to transition to another text to speech extension to assist your students with their reading. Heather O'Connor and I picked out the following extension after testing out the most popular ones that were available:

I will be allowing students to download Read Aloud as needed. Students will need to install this on their Chromebook only one time - then it will stay for the rest of their school career here at Claymont.

The instructions on how to have students download this are below:
1. Have your students navigate to the following link (this can be pushed out through Google Classroom if you have a large number of students): Read Aloud
2. Click the blue "Add to Chrome" button

3. Click the "Add extension" button

4. The extension will be installed, but they may need to have the extension pinned. You can do so by clicking the gray puzzle piece in Chrome, then clicking the pushpin next to Read Aloud

5.You should be done! If you want a better voice, you can right click the new megaphone icon, click "options" and change the voice to "Google US English."
If you have any questions or need help installing this on any student machines please open a ticket by emailing techsupport@claymontschools.org.
