Instructions on How to Upload YouTube Videos to Google Classroom

  1. Find the YouTube video that you want to show your students.
  2. Copy the URL from the URL bar at the top of Google Chrome by selecting the text and hitting CTRL + C (Your URL should look something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-FJeF3GL5Q).
  3. Go to https://ssyoutube.com/ or click the shortcut on your desktop to open sstube's site.
  4. Paste your URL in the "Paste your video link here" box by pressing CTRL + V and hit the download button.
  5. Your video should then process. Once it is finished, click the download button for whatever resolution video you want to upload to Google Classroom (The higher the resolution, the clearer the video will be - I recommend 720p).5.png
  6. Your video will begin downloading. Wait for it to download and head over to Google Classroom.
  7. Begin by sharing a new post with your class as you normally would. Once you have everything written up, you can attach the video afterwards by clicking the paperclip icon in the bottom left.

  8. It will ask you to select files from your computer to upload. Find your video file (which is probably located in your Downloads folder) and click the blue upload button in the bottom left.
  9. You are good to go! It will take ~20-30 minutes for your video to process in Google Classroom but your students should be able to view it once it is complete.
